How did your collaboration with E. Vassilieva come about? Ms Vassilieva has, without doubt, an excellent vocal schooling and artistic abilities, but she is above all a musician with a wide horizon, great understanding and a lively interest in the whole range of the vocal art. Elena is an educationist and a good teacher - she is a very dedicated teacher. The first time I heard her sing was in the hall of the museum "Griven". Music of the 1920s was performed during this concert, which took place a long time ago. Elena sang works by Shostakovich and Mosolov with a fine grasp of these works of music. She had already published her own CDs at the time. After we founded our centre in Paris she asked us if she could hold her master class with her students in our centre. We have an instrument there, different kinds of equipment, and a collection of recordings. So the students have the possibility of seeing and hearing performances of the things they are studying. In this way, Elena Vassilieva became part of our association, and her students became members of our association.
