Review of the new CD with vocal works by Shostakovich:
... "Les années Trente is the live recording of a concert that was performed in the Sorbonne, Paris, on 16 January 2002. This CD contains an interesting programme ranging from works of the masters to easy-listening music (...) Two tales by Krylov, dating from 1922, and the story of a stupid mouse provide a very original insight into Shostakovich's works. This aspect of Shostakovich is very charming and humorous: very refreshing. Elena Vassilieva's performance is very accurate and extremely vivid. She is simply excellent. The conductor, maestro Vladimir Ponkin, also did his best to ensure that the concert was a success.
On the scale of marks (1 to 8 stars) the CD received the special mark of "R" (R = référence).
